Update – Sarah’s Book Project: A Story With An LGBTQI Connection

Hello there. I thought I would post a wee update on my current book project which is of course to read a story with an LGBTQI connection with my chosen book being A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee.

Now you’ll know that I have given myself plenty of time to complete this (till the end of the year). But for the last little while I have been hankering to read actual books with real pages, rather than sticking solely to digital works. My local library does have a copy but it is a rather cumbersome hardback so I have decided to order a paperback copy. Rather surprisingly none of the bookshops that I frequent or that are in my catchment area stock it, so it is to Book Depository I go. This means a delivery time of at least a month (sigh) but even so, it should arrive in plenty of time for my imposed deadline so no worries about that.

In the meantime I went back to my original list that I chose from and remembered that I do have a physical copy of a book that was also featured, that being The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers.

The author is queer and the book features queer characters so I thought that while I wait for my other book to arrive, I might pick this up in the meantime. I have to finish my current read but I ‘ll see if I can slip it in between that and some other titles I am putting aside for non-fiction November which I plan to participate in. So we will see how we go.

Happy days!

So that’s my update. Not a long one but I just wanted to let you know that I hadn’t forgotten my project and that I’m very much looking forward to connecting with these books.

All the best and lots of love xxx
